Tips for your first Dispensary visit:

What to Bring

  • State ID: Bring a valid government-issued photo ID like a driver's license or passport.

  • Medical Card: Bring your active Florida medical marijuana identification card. (Note: If you just received your state approval email, some places allow entry, but the physical card or active registry status is required).

  • Cash: Most Florida dispensaries only accept cash because federal banking laws limit credit card processing for cannabis. ATMs are usually on-site if you forget.

  • Debit Card: Most Florida dispensaries take a debit card for a fee.

What to Expect Inside

  • Check-In: Present your ID and medical card at the front desk or reception area. You may need to fill out a first-time patient form.

  • The Wait: Busy times happen during peak hours, holidays, or major sales events, so expect a short lobby wait.

  • The Budtender: Tell the staff member helping you (your budtender) that it is your first time. They are trained to guide you through different product types, doses, and consumption methods without judgment.

Smart Shopping Tips

  • Take Advantage of First-Time Discounts: Major Florida chains l offer substantial new patient discounts—often ranging from 40% to 60% off your first purchase.

  • Start Low and Go Slow: Do not buy large quantities right away. Try one simple product type—like a low-dose edible, tincture, or vape—and see how your body reacts before trying something new.

  • Check Menus Online: Browse the store's menu beforehand to know what you want and avoid feeling overwhelmed on the sales floor

  • Do not kill your first few experiences by buying products high in THC. Start low and work your way up as needed.
